Watching This Talented 14-Year-Old’s Tribute To Freddie Mercury Is An Absolute Perfection!
If you thought Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was difficult to sing, then just wait until you see and hear every intricate and complicated part played beautifully with an acoustic guitar – and by an impressionable 14-year-old no less! Meet a then-14-year-old Billy Watman, a fierce fingerstyle instrumental guitarist whose tribute to the late Freddie Mercury has gone viral.
Back in August of 2015, Watman nailed Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” during a street performance, which was captured on Royal Mile Edinburgh by an onlooker and fan, Tony Goode. “I never knew two hands could emit so much beauty from them,” commented a fan online. “This is simply amazing.” His musical inspirations include Rodrigo y Gabriela, Tommy Emmanuel, Mike Oldfield and Paco De Lucia.
Recently, Watman, a now “award-winning 17-year-old Anglo-Brazilian classical musician” wowed again at the Edinburgh Fringe where he performed a rendition of Boney M‘s hit track, “Rasputin.” While it’s no shocker, but the super-talented guitarist has gotten even better since his “Bohemian Rhapsody” days!
