Watch How Hauntingly Beautiful Adele’s “Hello” Sounds In Irish As Performed By A School Choir
Students from Colaiste Lurgan in Galway have re-imagined Adele’s worldwide number one hit “Hello” and added a Gaeilge twist, turning the song on its head with the addition of a haunting melody and interesting vocals. Their version of the song has racked up over one million YouTube views to date.
The singing group, called TG Lurgan, is led by Shannon Bryan. They have amassed a worldwide following with their take on some of the biggest Billboard hits, such as Sia’s “Chandelier,” Hozier’s “Someone New” and “Wake Me Up” by Avicii. TG Lurgan’s Avicii cover has been viewed millions of times.
Listening to Adele’s “Hello” in Gaeilge is a different take on the melodic song and proves how difficult it is to sing. The pitch of the song rises up and dips down low, a vocal challenge even for the most experienced singer. The groups’ official YouTube can be found here.
