Demi Lovato just made a triumphant return with her emotional performance of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV. The star kicked off Super Bowl LIV on Sunday by fulfilling her prediction she made in 2010 with a tweet that said: “One day, I’m gonna sing the national anthem at a super bowl. Onnnee dayyy….”
The singer was decked out in a long-sleeved white suit and belt that was perfect for the occasion and a line of troops stood behind her bearing the US flags. The most important part is that it was one of her first public performances since her drug overdose at her Hollywood Hills home in July 2018.
Lovato has been public about her sobriety journey after the overdose and was giving clues to her return to music recently. She has followed the footsteps of Gladys Knight who also gave an exceptional performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the 2019 Super Bowl.
She has come a long way, Congrats Demi.
