Music by Lucille Barilla on July 14, 2017

Legendary singer Celine Dion was joined by Josh Groban during a concert conceived to honor the songstress as he joined her onstage for a performance of her hit collaboration with Andrea Bocelli, “The Prayer.” The duo paired up for a CBS special dedicated to Dion’s work in the music business.

Dion said the first time she met Groban, he was quite nervous to perform. She was later stunned by his vocal prowess. Songwriter David Foster, who discovered Groban and penned the tune, persuaded him to perform “The Prayer” in 1999, later becoming his first big break in the music industry.

Groban said to CBS News, “I was a 17-year-old kid when I got called to the 1999 Grammys rehearsal because Bocelli wasn’t able to make it, and I came in and stood in for him.” Dion never forgot Groban’s stunning vocals and in return, he praised her friendship and kindness.
