‘Put Down Your Cellphones!’ Jamie Lee Curtis Is On A Mission To End Technology Addiction For Parents, Kids
Let’s face it, in the United States and beyond, too many young and impressionable children are becoming addicted to technology and it’s having long-lasting effects on their self-esteem, social skills, and overall presence in the real world. So who’s to blame?
Some may say, peers, the media, or the Kardashians who are completely self-obsessed and make millions doing it. Yet, this over-consumption of the virtual world quite often starts at home with parents who are also totally consumed by their cellphones.
Actress and author Jamie Lee Curtis is on a mission to address this growing of problem and how parents’ screen habits aren’t setting a good example for their children. Not only did she submit a poignant essay to NBC News about society’s overall problem with addiction to technology, but she wrote a children’s book about it called “Me, Myselfie & I: A Cautionary Tale.” Watch her plea, it’s so powerful!
