Legendary actor Kirk Douglas has reportedly left his entire $60 million fortune to charity, leaving out his son Michael Douglas out of his will. Michael, a Hollywood actor himself has $300 million net worth himself, so shouldn’t feel too bad for being left out.
Kirk died on February 5th at the age of 103 and was laid to rest on February 7th at the Westwood Memorial in Los Angeles. His fortune will be distributed through the Douglas Foundation which was founded by Kirk and his wife, Anne. Some of the beneficiaries include the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, St Lawrence University, the Sinai Temple of Los Angeles and Kirk Douglas Theatre.
Screen legend, Kirk Douglas, appeared in more than 80 films including the Hollywood classic, “Spartacus”. He received critical acclaim for his role in the 1960 classic. He was also nominated for three Academy Awards and awarded an honorary Oscar for his service to the movie industry.
The renowned actor survived a helicopter crash in 1991 and had suffered a stroke in 1996. In recent years his health had been in decline but continued to serve as a Goodwill Ambassador for the U.S. State Department. He will not only be remembered for his work in Hollywood but also tons of humanitarian work. Thank you, Kirk, for being a great example to humanity.
