His fortune will be distributed through the Douglas Foundation which was founded by Kirk and his wife, Anne. Some of the beneficiaries include the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, St Lawrence University, the Sinai Temple of Los Angeles and Kirk Douglas Theatre.

Screen legend, Kirk Douglas, appeared in more than 80 films including the Hollywood classic, “Spartacus”. He received critical acclaim for his role in the 1960 classic. He was also nominated for three Academy Awards and awarded an honorary Oscar for his service to the movie industry.

The renowned actor survived a helicopter crash in 1991 and had suffered a stroke in 1996.
