Guitarist Shreds Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ On NYC Street, Nailing Both Bass & Freestyle Simultaneously!
There’s an abundance of smells that emanate from the gritty, bustling streets of New York City, but there is one that’s getting a lot of attention because it “smells like teen spirit!” (Well, not exactly!) A very talented street performer and guitarist named Philipp Skov decided to shred Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in the middle of 57th street in midtown Manhattan!
Fearlessly inches away from New York City traffic and standing behind a construction zone with a smoky pipe, Skov channels his inner-Kurt Cobain. What’s so impressive about his street performance is that he is playing both the bass and the freestyle parts simultaneously – and effortlessly! His fierce delivery is getting a lot of buzz online!
“Amazing how he can play a steady bass-like flow with a freestyle-like lead at the same time. Wow!” commented a fan on Facebook named Chrystal Cottrell. Watch this talented guitarist rock out – he even grabs the attention of an NYC tourist bus driver who pulls over for a second to dance from the driver’s seat!
