Girl With Delightful Voice Sings ‘Hallelujah’ So Well That The Judges Ask Her Sing It Again!
When ‘The Voice Of Armenia’ contestant Mary Mnjoyan walked on the stage of “The Voice Of Armenia,” during Season 1’s blind auditions, the judges didn’t know what to expect. Yet in only a few notes of Mnjoyan’s rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” she blew them away!
Immediately, one judge hit her big red button, which turned her chair over to face Mnjoyan as she gave it her all. That judge cheered and also sang along! Her enthusiasm was so contagious that the other judges looked at her, as if they were thinking…“well, wait a minute here…” Then one by one, the remaining judges began to fiercely hit their big red buttons, thus spinning around their chairs as well!
The vocal powerhouse brought the house down so much so that a couple of the judges sprung to their feet! Then they asked her to sing “Hallelujah” once more! That never happens on “The Voice” in the United States! Way to go “The Voice Of Armenia!” The judge’s panel for “The Voice Of Armenia,” Season 1 was made up of judges: Sona, Tata Simonyan, Sofi Mkheyan and Arto Tunçboyaciyan. Check out Mnjoyan’s impressive spin on “Hallelujah” by the late Leonard Cohen, which was also covered by the late Jeff Buckley.
