Country Star Brad Paisley And His Wife Kimberly Are Opening A Free Grocery Store For Low-Income Families
Country star Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley are on a mission to pay it forward by opening a free grocery store in Nashville to help families in need. They are launching it in partnership with Belmont University and expected to open ‘The Store’ in 2019. It will be located at 2005 12th Ave. S. in Music City.
Brad got inspiration for the idea after volunteering at Unity Shoppe in Santa Barbara, California for a Thanksgiving. They also brought their sons along after his wife Kimberly felt that they behaved spoiled around the holiday season. That was not only a good influence on their children but also got Brad on this inspiring mission.
Brad revealed later that “it was inspiring because these people have dignity,” and that “it’s not a scene from ‘Oliver Twist.’ These people are able to sit there and feel very, very normal in the eyes of their kids. I remember … thinking, ‘Why isn’t this everywhere?’ Essentially, we got this idea that it could be a very effective thing in Nashville.”
Brad, a Belmond graduate decided to team up with the institute to form the non-profit and it will be located next to the Belmont University’s Ministry Center. They have partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and a few other organizations to give families the support they need in their toughest times.
“This is a grocery store with dignity for people who have fallen on hard times,” Braid revealed more. “All of us are one unforeseen disaster away from rock bottom. It’s nice to think about a place where when that happens to someone, they can use it to get back on their feet.”

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is an old English proverb-that means eating nutritious foods will make you healthier. The Store will offer healthy food choices to individuals and families🍎 @signsfirst_nashville #thestore #giveback #apples #kimberlywilliamspaisley #bradpaisley #charity #thankyou #families #food #selfsufficient #dignity #community #empowerment
The goal is to supply the needy individuals and families with fresh and nonperishable groceries for up to a year. The mission is to serve up to 3,000 families annually who are referred by nonprofit and government agencies.
Kimberly tells that their free grocery store is meant to be a “temporary Band-Aid on the road to self-sufficiency. So many people are making great choices in their lives. It’s not like they’ve made major mistakes, they just need a little extra help and we want to be a resource for those people.”
