Former President Barack Obama may seem like a cool guy but even he admits he has “dad moves” when he dances. In a teaser video for David Letterman’s new Netflix series My First Guest Needs No Introduction, Barack reveals what it was like to dance with Prince. Yes, that Prince.

Barack Obama talked about how he used his “dad moves” onstage next to Prince. “And Prince asked Sasha to come up and dance, and she’s an excellent dancer. Then Sasha pulls me up, which surprises me because she always mocks my dancing. But I have ‘dad moves.’,” Barack explained to Letterman. So, he decided to bust out his martial arts moves.

The former Late Show host laughs at the idea of a grown man doing karate kicks as a form of dance. “Really?” he asked. “Karate kicks?” Obama is the first guest on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which airs Jan. 12. It’s the former commander-in-chief’s first interview since leaving office in January 2017.
