17-Year-Old Dancers’ ‘Matrix-Like’ Routine Wins Them The First-Ever Perfect Score On ‘World Of Dance’
When “World of Dance” teen contestants Charity Anderson and Andrés Antonio created their own choreography for the hauntingly beautiful song, “Way Down We Go” by Kaleo, it evolved into an ethereal experience. Not only did they nab the first-ever perfect score in the show’s history, but their breathtaking movements, flips, lifts, and twists and turns absolutely astonished the judges.
“When you choreograph your own routines, you know what you’re capable of doing, you know your limits, you know your strengths,” Derek Hough enthusiastically explained. “And you guys choreographed a routine that didn’t just play to your strengths, it surpassed them. It transcended dance.”
Both just 17 years old, Charity and Andrés from Springville, Utah, have a chemistry that dates back to their childhood. They started ballroom dancing together at age 8. Andrés ended up pursuing contemporary dance and just recently the duo reunited to become a force to be reckoned with!
