The first promo still from upcoming drama ‘The Rover’ has debuted online.
The image shows a bloodied Robert Pattinson being held at gunpoint by Guy Pearce- a far cry from his days as romantic vampire Edward Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ saga.
According to co-writer David Michôd, the film is set to tell the tale of people from all over the world flocking to the Australian outback in the wake of an economic crisis to tap the location’s remaining valuable resources.
Michôd, who co-wrote the story with Joel Edgerton, explained to Entertainment Weekly that “It’s like a new gold rush, where people from all corners of the world have come out to the desert to scrape out an existence. Petty criminals and miscreants and hustlers.”
