Who were the most exciting designers to show their collections at day 7 of New York Fashion Week I here you ask? Well good job we’ve rounded up all the best for you to look at right here!
Let’s start with Michael Kors, “Urban athleticism” is how Kors described his show and filtered in a whole lot of zips, neon yellows and blues and chic gloves. Throughout the collection we saw athletic-inspired colours and designs as well as gorgeous textures. A series of evening gowns dominated the finale, proving the collection is certainly red carpet worthy.
Rachel Zoe packed a punch with her fall line as she creates a day to night collection we love. Zoe is crazy about her designs to, which she says are, “about this amazing ’70s equestrian girl who gets really tough. She starts her day sexy and sultry and all of a sudden, she’s tough and goes dancing. It’s tough and androgynous and cool. Tons of leather and suede and grommets. I’m super-proud of it.”
Marchesa’s fiery spanish vibe Fall 2013 collection rocked the runway yesterday, with one half of the partnership Craig saying, ”It was based on Goya’s Portrait of Maria Teresa de Vallabriga on Horseback. Equestrian feel with a Spanish vibe and matador trousers. Georgina really played around with the draping,”
J. Mendel designer Gilles Mendel was inspired by German painter Gerhard Richter’s multi-layered colorful abstracts for Fall 2013, as his designs mixed different textures, colours and shapes for a show to remember. Tweed and leather biker jackets were prominent, as was fur and belt detail.
That was the last full day of NYFW, but not to worry as London Fashion Week starts tomorrow!
