Day 4 of New York Fashion Week yesterday bought us some very exciting shows, which we’ve rounded up all the best of right here!
Victoria Beckham sent her much anticipated Fall 2013 collection down the runway yesterday and certainly didn’t disappoint. Experimenting with new materials, particularly with herringbone, camelhair and checked tweed, a sense of masculinity was seen throughout. Pops of neon colour in mini skirts and not-quite-tight dresses also caught the attention of the crowd.
Diane Von Furstenburg rocked the runway with her collection simply titled ‘GLAM ROCK’. Party prints and signature wrap dresses kept in theme with the title, as von Furstenberg described her women for next fall; ’Wrapped in a swirl of twisted chain link, she steps into the night, with an effortless glamour, she winks at herself and smiles at her shadow…In sky-high metallic heels, she swaggers across the cityscape….’.
DKNY saw bulky coats offering protection against these bitter temperatures we’re experiencing, as well as feminine tailoring and exciting hues. We also saw leather and animal print combos redefining women’s winter wardrobes throughout the world.
Zac Posen delivered a host of red carpet gowns and more at his Fall 2013 runway show yesterday. A favourite for A-List celebrities, the classic gowns were there as well as day wear – something not expected from the designer. With a new focus on separates, we saw a focus on tweeds, silks and exciting peplums to spice up your wardrobe.
Tommy Hilfiger for women kept in theme with the classic tweeds and herringbone materials we’ve been seeing at NYFW, where the collection was ”Savile Row meets Ivy League”. Set in a catwalk designed to look like Harry Potter’s library, coats all shapes and sizes were spotted, sticking to a strict colour palette of autumn hues.
That’s all for day 4! Who was your favourite designer?!
