London Fashion Week has come to a close after a fabulous five days full on Fashion! I was lucky enough to go to be right in the mix of it and find out what’s going to be store for our Spring/Summer 2013 wardrobes!
It was fashion packed week of catwalk shows both in Somerset House and off site! I lusted over the Inspired By Minnie Mouse exhibition and attending the all the glamourous show and after parties.
PPQ kicked off the excitement on Friday with a super cool runway, showing 1960s psychedelic fashion with paisley prints, metallics, jumpsuits, classic nautical stripes and high necklines!
The FROW included Laura Whitmore, Delilah, Jameela Jamil, Esmee Denters, Shanika Markland Warren, Dudley O’Shaughnessy and even Me! It was followed by a glamorous after party where we sipped on gigantic glass/bowls of Gin and Tonics and danced the night away.
House of Holland was the must-see show for any young, hip and rich girl of London! Alexa Chung, Nicola Roberts and Pixie Geldof amongst others who loved up the 90s inspired extravaganza, held in no other than a Soho car park. Tie dye prints, grunge styles combined with glamour and oversized checks was what the SS13 line was all about, and Henry did well to sniff out the future East London trends early on.
Matthew Williamson also rocked runways with Cara Delevingne openning the show in a stunning Cannon St building. Bright, bold, colourful hues dominated the collection, with stunning dresses in hot pink merged with turquoise on cigarette pants and jackets. A total colour fest! The Frow included Poppy Delevingne, Olivia Palermo and David Gandy.
In between shows, I even got stopped and interviewed by Vogue TV China about fashion and trends!
It was all about Topshop Unique on Sunday where it showed a contemporary, minimalistic, kind of extra-terrestrial collection of semi sheer dresses, square plaids and dramatic yet simple tailoring. The Frow included Olivia Palermo, Nicola Roberts, Elle Fanning, Shanae Grimes and Daisy Lowe.
Burberry stole the show at Hyde Park where Harry Styles was caught eyeing up model Cara Delevigne as she strutted past along with models donning futuristic trench coats in metallic purples, pinks and greens. The line encapsulated a sickly palette of sweet summery colours and playful styles to edge up the classic brand. I particularly loved the micro knickers and super cropped bomber jackets. HOT! The star studded Frow included Andy Murray, Harry Styles, Dita Von Teese, Saif Ali Khan, Dev Patel and Amir Khan.
Mulberry completed the fashionable week with Lana Del Rey, Alexa Chung, Kate Moss taking to the FROW in their most stylish Mulberry outfits. The collection was inspired by a colour palette of apricots, spearmints and powder pinks. The looks were catapulted with belted jumpers worn with neat pleated skirts, brocade trousers and cropped blazers.
So it was a week of fun, running in heels and most of all fabulous fashion! Next stop, Milan! Stay tuned for all the top trends I spotted from London Fashion Week!
