Prada Goes Gatsby

Miuccia Prada has assisted in designing and reworking around 40 dresses from the Prada and Miu Miu collection for the upcoming film adaptation of the classic Fitzgerald novel, ‘The Great Gatsby.’

Prada confessed to US Vogue that “I usually try not to literally reference periods in my work, because that’s not the way I think. But when I worked on the costumes, I realised how many pieces would become very Twenties with a little intervention and another point of view.”

The designer has collaborated with Catherine Martin to create twenties inspired flapper dresses, which were worn by several actresses throughout the film. The designer stayed true to the era and created some stunning pieces.

As well as Prada dresses all the jewellery is Tiffany & CO, as worn by Carey Mulligan in her role as Daisy Buchanan. The glamour filled adaptation is due to premiere in cinemas in July 2013.

What do you think of the designer filled costumes?
