Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch is being tapped to play Alan Turing in the upcoming film ‘The Imitation Game’.
The film tells the story of Alan Turing, the man who cracked the enigma code during WWII, only to then be prosecuted for being gay.
The film’s script has been ready for several years, and despite rumours of Warner Bros. angling for Leonardo DiCaprio to star, the project didn’t move forward.
Cumberbatch has recently spread his wings into the film industry, with upcoming roles in Star Trek: Into Darkness and WikiLeaks film The Fifth Estate.
