Having seen both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler leave the show, American Idol are now after Mariah Carey to share her expertise on the judging panel.
The 42-year-old singer is finalizing a deal with the show for an estimated $17million, according to Deadline.
Despite no contracts being signed as of yet, the show would have a super exciting season if other reported judges signed up too, such as Adam Lambert.
In other Mariah news, the global icon has been announced to be named a “BMI Icon” at the BMI Urban Awards on September 7th for her “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.”
