Rihanna has been considered something of a style icon for some time, but now it seems that it won’t be long until high street shoppers will be able to get their hands on a clothing line designed by the singer herself. In her first collaborative venture, Rihanna will be teaming up with River Island for their Spring 2013 collection.
Rihanna is thought to have been a fan of the River Island brand for some time, and has been spotted wearing their clothing on several occasions. Not only have River Island’s stores remained a favourite with those shopping on a high street budget, but their online store has more recently proved to be a hit with those revamping their wardrobes whilst checking their emails or playing online partypoker games. Even so, the fact that the A-lister’s first fashion range will be available at affordable prices is certainly unusual, and a key indication that Rihanna is keen to keep her first collection down to earth and reflective if the styles which can usually be seen sporting.
The ‘We Found Love’ singer has reportedly expressed the wish to be involved in designing her own collection for some time and has been quoted as saying, “I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes.” Although we can expect the range to be reflective if the Rihanna’s own edgy and fashion-forward look, the Bajan songstress is also known for her ever-changing image, so it’s hard to say exactly what we can expect to crop up in this collection. RiRi has also recently unveiled another venture into the fashion world, as she will be coaching aspiring fashion designers on Sky Living’s reality TV show, ‘Styled to Rock’.
