‘The Voice’ UK is hoping to secure a guest performance from Madonna to push ratings over the 12 million mark.
The ‘Material Girl’ who is currently promoting her album MDNA has been sought after by BBC producers looking to bring in more viewers for the show.
In an interview with the Daily Star Sunday, a source said, “Simon Cowell will be furious if ‘The Voice’ upstages him with a massive guest performer like Madonna in its first series. You don’t get much bigger than her – she’s a living legend.”
Earlier in January, Simon said that he recognised that ‘The Voice’ would be a ‘challenge’ but he was confident that it would not be a real threat to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
His words reigned true last Saturday as ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ beat ‘The Voice’ by 0.1 million more viewers.
Lana Del Rey delivered a beautiful performance at ‘The Voice’ results show yesterday but ultimately failed to draw in the viewers.
Will this all change when Madonna takes centre stage on the BBC hit show?
