Nicki Minaj has signed a reported multi-million pound deal to become the new face of Pepsi.
Fronting the campaign for new drink, Pop, the ‘Super bass’ singer follows in the footsteps of her mentor Lil Wayne, who debut his DEWEEZY campaign with Pepsi’s Mountain Dew last week.
The beverage is due out later this year, with the commercial, shot in South America, slated to air on screens in the next couple of months.
“You’ll see the commercial probably in the next two months,” said Derek Jackson, the Glu agency chief who brokered the deal. “That’ll be a segue into a new beverage Pepsi has, called ‘Pop,’ and she’ll be the face of the brand … it’s going to be explosive.”
